A thesis submitted by Shivani Vandana Kumari at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand found that soaking almonds for 12 hours resulted in a significant reduction in phytic acid levels, ranging from 25% to 58%, depending on the soaking conditions.

Additionally, according Healthline report, soaking almonds increased their antioxidant activity and enhanced the bioavailability of essential nutrients like vitamin E and polyphenols.
